Abstract:
An autonomously traveling mobile robot (1) is provided with: a main body (10) having a front surface 2; drive units (15, 16), which are disposed in the main body (10), and which drive travelling of the main body (10); a base (31), which has a spring (33), and which is connected to the main body (10) via the spring (33); and a ranging unit (12) that is disposed on the upper section of the base (31). The base (31) is movably connected to the main body (10) to be in a first state wherein the ranging unit (12) is positioned inside of the main body (10), or in a second state wherein the ranging unit (12) is positioned outside of the main body (10). The spring (33) generates a force that presses the base (31) from the front surface (2) of the main body (10) to the outer side of the main body (10).
