Abstract:
Disclosed is a mobile robot (1) provided with a body (11), in which a motor (16) is provided, and drive units (21), provided on opposing sides of the body (11). Each drive unit (21) is provided with: an inner wheel (25) which is rotationally driven by the motor (16), the rim of said inner wheel being formed from an elastic material; and three outer wheels (31), each formed from an elastic material. Each outer wheel is in contact with that inner wheel (25), and power is transmitted from that inner wheel (25) to each outer wheel via friction. The axles (27) of the outer wheels (31) are attached at equal intervals to ring-shaped leaf springs (26) attached to both ends of the body (11). The disclosed mobile robot (1) is small and portable, in addition to handing uneven terrain well.
