Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mobile robot, which determines a type and position of a household electrical appliance located in a driving area and controls the household electrical appliance in response to a control command or situation. A mobile robot according to the invention comprises a control unit which, on the basis of an image acquired through an image acquisition unit, determines a type and position of a household electrical appliance disposed in a driving area, generates a household electrical appliance map which is a map of the driving area and indicates at least one of a type and position of the household electrical appliance, and outputs the map. Therefore, the mobile robot can remotely control a household electrical appliance in response to a user control command and can determine a situation according to information acquired even without any control command, to control a household electrical appliance suitable in a particular situation.
