Abstract:
A mobile terminal (10) is provided with a display (26), and a touch panel (36) installed on the display (26). A cellular-phone wallpaper to be displayed by the display (26) includes multiple icons for executing functions. Furthermore, a designated area (60) that is not affected by any selection by the icons is provided on the display (26). When a handwriting character is entered within the designated area (60), that handwritten character will be recognized. For example, when the character as a result of the recognition is a hiragana, a processor (20) will specify Japanese, and make a request to change the language to be used, with a GUI having Japanese written thereon. Then, when a touching manipulation to accept that change is executed, the processor (20) will set Japanese as the language to be used on the mobile terminal (10).
