Abstract:

The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a method for controlling operation thereof, wherein a delay time for execution of a screen lock is adjusted depending on the type of applications, thereby reducing user interface inconvenience due to interruptions caused by a necessity to continuously provide visual information to a user or by reception of a continuous input from the user, and making it possible to efficiently manage a battery. To this end, a mobile terminal according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: an input unit for receiving a user input; an execution control unit for executing a screen lock when the user input has not been received during a preset period of time; and a change control unit for changing the preset period of time based on the type of application.
