Abstract:

Disclosed is a communication method and a mobile unit which can efficiently collect location information for an arbitrary user. A communication unit (101) receives a positioning request, which contains attribute specification information from a management center (500), and a determination unit (104) determines the necessity for positioning based on both the attribute specification information in the received positioning request and initially stored attribute information. Then, when the determination unit (104) determines that positioning is necessary, a positioning unit (105) performs positioning, and notifies the management center (500) of information on the new position. As a result, it is possible to collect position information for a mobile unit that matches attributes desired by the management center (500), and it is possible to provide fine-grained service and the like based on said position information.
