[Problem] To provide a mock sword toy that provides an increased level of entertainment. [Solution] This mock sword toy includes a scabbard section 3 that resembles a scabbard for a sword, and a hilt section 2 that resembles the hilt of a sword and is configured so as to be able to be attached to and detached from the scabbard section 3. The hilt section 2 is provided with an attachment section that is attached to the scabbard section 3. The scabbard section 3 is provided with a first recessed section to which the attachment section 5 is attached in a manner allowing the same to be accommodated therein. The hilt section 2, when in a first state of being attached to the scabbard section 3, can be drawn out of the scabbard section 3, provided that after a first movement in which the hilt section 2 is moved a prescribed distance in a first direction that is the lengthwise direction of the scabbard section 3 and exposes the attachment section 5 from the first recessed section, a second movement is performed in which the same is moved further in the first direction in a state in which at least a portion of the attachment section 5 has been displaced, relative to the scabbard section 3, in a second direction that is different from the first direction.
