Abstract:
A mode-locked laser light source serving as a light source for generating a high-quality multicarrier light while stabilizing the frequency of each carrier light comprising a master laser light source generating a master laser light, a mode-locked laser light source section including at least a modulating section, an amplifying section and a band limit section for reducing mode distribution noise in an optical resonator, and a signal generating section generating a periodic signal applied to the modulating section for the purpose of mode locking of the mode-locked laser light source section, wherein the master laser light is made to enter the optical resonator of the mode-locked laser light source section and injection-locked. A multicarrier light source is composed of a combination of the mode-locked laser light source and a waveguide type nonlinear medium.
