Abstract:
In additive layer fabrication in which a material layer on a conveyance member is heated and laminated, the present invention limits the occurrence of defective lamination. A fabrication apparatus 1 for successively laminating multiple material layers to fabricate a three-dimensional object comprises: a stage with a fabrication surface on which the material layers are laminated; a conveyance member for supporting and conveying the material layers to a lamination position that faces the fabrication surface; and a heating member for clamping, at the lamination position, the material layer between the heating member and the fabrication surface of the stage, and pressurizing and heating the material layer. When the heating region of the heating member is projected vertically onto the plane of the supporting surface where the conveyance member supports the material layer, the projection plane of the heating region has extension regions that extend to the outside of both edges of the supporting surface on both edges of the projection plane of the heating region.
