Abstract:
A modified ethylene/vinyl alcohol (EVOH) resin having primary hydroxyl groups in side chains is provided as an EVOH-based resin having both excellent biodegradability and excellent gas-barrier properties. The modified EVOH resin has a content of structural ethylene units of 1-16.5 mol%, and the content of structural units each having a primary hydroxyl group in a side chain is 2.5 mol% or higher.
