Abstract:
A modified conjugated diene polymer is produced by reacting a conjugated diene polymer having an alkali metal atom or an alkali earth metal atom at a terminal thereof with a compound represented by formula (1). R1 and R2 independently represent a hydrocarbyl group having 20 or less carbon atoms. R3 represents a substituted alkyl group having 20 or less carbon atoms and produced by substituting at least one of hydrogen atoms and -CH2- groups in an alkyl group by a group containing, as a hetero atom, only at least one atom selected from the group consisting of a nitrogen atom, a phosphorus atom, an oxygen atom and a sulfur atom, or represents a monovalent aromatic group having 20 or less carbon atoms and containing at least one element atom selected from the group consisting of a nitrogen atom, a phosphorus atom, an oxygen atom and a sulfur atom. In this regard, R3 has no active hydrogen atom. R4 represents an alkanediyl group having 20 or less carbon atoms. n represents 1 or 2.
