Abstract:
A modified diene-based polymer obtained by graft-modifying a diene-based polymer with a polyether to which a mercapto group is bonded via a diurethane bond. The diurethane bond is formed by sequentially reacting two species of hydroxyl group-containing compound with a diisocyanate compound. Adding this modified diene-based polymer to a silica-compounded rubber composition for a pneumatic tire for an automobile improves dispersibility of the silica blended into the rubber composition, and makes it possible to fully achieve the performance of both the reduced rolling resistance and stability on a wet road surface that is inherent to silica.
