Title:
MODIFIED GALECTIN-9 PROTEIN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/080703
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a modified form of galectin-9, which has substantially the same physiological activity as that of wild-type galectin-9, also has excellent protease stability and solubility, and can be produced with high yield. The modified form of galectin-9 according to the present invention is a protein which comprises a NCRD and a CCRD as mentioned below, wherein each of the NCRD and the CCRD comprises an N-terminal domain and a C-terminal domain, and wherein the C-terminal of the NCRD and the N-terminal of the CCRD are bound to each other directly or indirectly. The NCRD is (N1) a peptide comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1. The N-terminal domain of the CCRD is (C-N1) a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence produced by deleting 1 to 17 amino acid residues in the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 3, and the C-terminal domain of the CCRD is (C-C1) a peptide comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 5.
