Abstract:
The main purpose of the present invention is to provide a modified hydrocarbon resin that has reduced odor and has excellent color tone and heat resistant hue stability. The present invention solves the above problem by providing a modified hydrocarbon resin which is formed by introducing a carboxyl group or an acid anhydride group derived from an unsaturated carboxylic acid or an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride into a resin formed by hydrogenating a hydrocarbon resin comprising 20 to 70 mass% of 1,3-pentadiene monomer units, 10 to 40 mass% of alicyclic monoolefin monomer units having 4 to 6 carbon atoms, 5 to 30 mass% of acyclic monoolefin monomer units having 4 to 8 carbon atoms, 0 to 1 mass% of alicyclic diolefin monomer units, and 0 to 40 mass% of aromatic monoolefin monomer units, wherein the hydrogenation rate of olefin being in the range of 0.1 to 80%
