Abstract:
The invention relates to a modular entertainment system (200). The system (200) includes a control unit (210) communicatively coupled to a mobile telephone (102). A transceiver module (212) receives a request message from the mobile telephone (102) which includes at least a unique identifier. A determination module (213) determines whether or not the unique identifier matches any of unique identifiers stored on a database (104), if there is a match, the control unit (210) retrieves preferred entertainment output associated with the unique identifier. Peripheral devices (220) receive and communicate entertainment output. The control unit (210) is removably attachable to the peripheral devices (220) and further communicatively coupled to peripheral devices (220). In use, the control unit (210) transmits the preferred entertainment output to the peripheral devices (220) so as to enable the peripheral devices (220) to communicate the preferred entertainment output.
