Abstract:
The present invention relates to a modular type dual-contact shrink fit chuck. More specifically, the shrink fit chuck comprises: a holder having one end portion which may be coupled with the parting groove of a spindle at the outer circumferential surface thereof, the other end portion provided with a first tapered surface which is penetrated inwards with reference to a first securing surface at the outermost portion thereof, a collet coupling screw groove extended from the first tapered surface, and a first guide surface extended from the collet coupling screw groove and having an inner circumferential surface which is formed to be in parallel with the center line of the first tapered surface; and a shrink fit collet having one end portion provided with a second tapered surface corresponding to the first tapered surface at the outer circumferential surface thereof, a screw portion extended from the second tapered surface at the outermost portion thereof so as to be coupled in the collet coupling screw groove, a second guide surface extended from the screw portion and having an outer circumferential surface which is formed to be in parallel with the center line of the second tapered surface, a stepped portion formed in the center portion and having a second securing surface corresponding to the first securing surface, and an end-mill insertion groove penetrated at the other end portion so that a Tungsten Carbide end-mill may be shrink-fitted thereinto. After the second guide surface is guided to the first guide surface, the first tapered surface and the second tapered surface come into surface-contact and the second securing surface comes into surface-contact with the first securing surface, as the screw portion is coupled in the collet coupling screw groove. According to the present invention, it is possible to use Tungsten Carbide end-mills in variable standards in combination and in substitution as necessary by a single holder. The respective securing surfaces and the respective tapered surfaces of the holder and the shrink fit collet come into dual-contact with each other, so that it is possible to restrain from vibration. Therefore, the roughness of machined surfaces is improved so that not only productivity may be increased but also the shrink fit collet may be substituted in a short period of time.
