Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a moisture detection device that can detect with good precision the amount of moisture in paper used in an image forming device, and that enables the image forming device to be made smaller. [Solution] Provided is a moisture detection device (10) that detects the amount of moisture in a recording medium used in an image forming device, wherein the moisture detection device is provided with the following: a driving electrode (11); a detection electrode (12) disposed so as to face the driving electrode (11) with a prescribed interval therebetween; a reference electrode (13) disposed so as to face the driving electrode (11) with a prescribed interval therebetween, on the side opposite the detection electrode (12); and a control means (14) for calculating the amount of moisture in the recording medium between the driving electrode (11) and the detection electrode (12). The moisture detection device is characterized by being disposed so that when the image forming device conveys the recording medium, the recording medium passes between the driving electrode (11) and the detection electrode (12).
