Abstract:
(Problem) To provide a moisture-/temperature-sensitively color-changing composition and a moisture-/temperature-sensitively color-changing indicator, each of which is useful for the detection of a humidity/temperature condition and enables the confirmation of the progression or completion of a sterilization treatment in accordance with the degree of change in color of the composition or the indicator.
(Solution) A moisture-/temperature-sensitively color-changing composition containing a bismuth compound, a sulfur compound, a binder and an organic solvent, said composition being characterized by additionally containing a hydroxycarboxylic acid.
A moisture-/temperature-sensitively color-changing indicator produced using the moisture-/temperature-sensitively color-changing composition according to the present invention enables the correct determination as to whether a humidity/temperature condition suitable for a sterilization treatment is achieved or not and whether the sterilization treatment is surely completed or not in the practice of a high-pressure steam sterilization procedure.
