Abstract:
Provided is a mold opening/closing device that can prevent a ball screw shaft from reaching a risky speed while using a ball screw having a cantilever supporting structure. A mold clamping device 10 according to the present invention is provided with: a ball screw 33 having a ball screw shaft 34 and a ball screw nut 35 that meshes with the ball screw shaft 34; and a motor 31 that drives the ball screw 33. One end of the ball screw shaft 34 is supported by a fixation plate 12 or a movable plate 13 so as to be rotatable or non-rotatable, while being restricted in movement in an axial direction and thereby serving as a fixed end E1, and the other end thereof serves as a free end E2. Further, the mold clamping device 10 is characterized in that a distance D1 between the ball screw nut 35 and the fixed end E1 is shorter than a distance D2 between the fixed plate 12 and the movable plate 13.
