Abstract:
A moldable interlining cloth for clothes which is to be used in the breast and shoulder parts of men’s or women’s jackets or coats for the purpose of maintaining the shape and which can be precisely and easily processed into three-dimensional products fitting the human figure and having excellent shape retention. A moldable interlining cloth consisting either of a planar plain weave or knit fabric composed of wefts and warps or of a planar woven felt made of a mixture of wefts and warps, wherein the wefts are made of blended yarn (1) obtained by blending a fusible yarn (2) having a core/sheath structure with an animal hair (3). The fusible yarn can be produced by covering a core yarn made of a polyester resin with a sheath yarn made of high-density polyethylene or polyester having a melting point lower than that of the polyester resin of the core yarn. It is preferable that the mixing ratio of the fusible yarn to the animal hair lie within the range of 5:5 to 2:8.
