Abstract:
Disclosed is a molded activated charcoal. The molded activated charcoal is produced by molding a mixture comprising a powdery activated charcoal (a) having a median particle size of 80 to 120 μm and a standard deviation (σg) of 1.3 to 1.9 in the particle size distribution and a fibrous binder (b). The molded activated charcoal has an excellent capability of removing any residual free chlorine, any volatile organic compound, CAT or 2-MIB, and also has an excellent turbid material removal capability, and therefore can be used as a cartridge for a water purifier or the like.
