Abstract:
This molded catalyst body is used in order to produce an unsaturated aldehyde and/or an unsaturated carboxylic acid by means of an oxidation reaction, and simultaneously satisfies requirements (A) and (B). (A) Before being filled in a reactor, the molded body density of the molded catalyst body is 2.25 g/mL or less. (B) At least one of requirements (B-1) and (B-2) is satisfied. (B-1) The arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) of a surface of the molded catalyst body, as specified in JIS B-0601-2001, is 3.0 μm or less. (B-2) The maximum height (Rz) of a surface of the molded catalyst body, as specified in JIS B-0601-2001, is 15 μm or less.
