Abstract:
The present invention provides: a molded-foam production process by which molded foam having excellent heat-insulating properties can be efficiently produced; and molded foam obtained by such process. The molded-foam production process of the present invention includes: a step in which a resin composition comprising a polyolefin and poly(lactic acid) is melted and a fluid in a supercritical state is infiltrated into the resin composition, thereby preparing a molten resin; and a step in which the molten resin is injected into a mold to fill the cavity thereof and, before the molten resin with which the cavity has been filled finishes solidifying, some of the mold is moved to enlarge the volume of the cavity. The fluid to be added to the resin composition is an inert gas, the amount thereof being 0.05-4.0 wt%. The thus-produced molded foam at least partly has a cross section which has a five-layer structure composed of a first foam-free layer, a first foam-containing layer, a hollow region, a second foam-containing layer, and a second foam-free layer in this order.
