Abstract:
The disclosed molded member is suitable for use in automotive structural members, allows reduced manufacturing costs, and has excellent dimensional precision, axial crushing characteristics, three-point bending characteristics, and bending and torsional stiffness. The molded member (20) is provided with a reinforcement member (35) joined by means of welds (40) on a ridge line area (28). The manufacturing method involves a plate-shaped blank and the plate-shaped reinforcing member (35) being joined by means of the welds (40) and the molded member being formed by bending such that the welds (40) form the ridge line area (28).
