Abstract:
In the case that foreign matter such as a fragment or the like is produced in a main cavity section (MC) or sub-cavity sections (SC1, SC2) when expanding and molding a metal pipe material between an upper mold (12) and a lower mold (11), the present invention blocks the progress of the foreign matter that is heading in an outward direction in the direction of extension of the sub-cavity sections (SC1, SC2) that intersect the direction of extension of the metal pipe material, by using projections (96b, 96b) on the upper mold holder (96) that function as shield members provided along the line of extension of the sub-cavity sections (SC1, SC2) when the metal pipe material expands.
