Abstract:

A molding material comprising a phenol resin which comprises 100 parts by mass of a novolac phenol resin having a total content of a phenolic monomer and a phenolic dimmer of 10 % or less as measured by the area method of the gel filtration chromatography, and having a dispersion ratio (Mw/Mn) between a weight average molecular weight (Mw) and a number average molecular weight (Mn) of 1.3 to 3.0 as measured by the gel filtration chromatography and 350 to 900 parts by weight of an inorganic filler. The molding material is excellent in processability, heat resistance, dimensional accuracy and mechanical strength.
