Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a resin composition which offers high formability of a member with complicated geometry by injection molding and with which it is possible to obtain a molded article that exhibits excellent bending elastic modulus and impact characteristics. A molding material comprising carbon fibers and a resin composition containing a thermoplastic resin, wherein: the lengths of the carbon fibers is substantially identical with the length of the molding material; the carbon fibers have a twisting angle of 2.0-30.5° at the surface thereof; a cross-sectional surface of the molding material perpendicular to the axial direction of the carbon fibers has a core ratio A/(A+B) of 0.1-0.5, where A represents the area ratio of a core portion including the carbon fibers, while B represents the area ratio of a sheath portion other than the core portion; and the area ratio of voids accounts for 5% or less in a cross-sectional surface of the molding material perpendicular to the axial direction of the carbon fibers.
