Title:
MOLDING MATERIALS FOR WALLPAPER EXECUTION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/111367
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Regardless of the condition of the surface of wall to be papered, the present invention of molding material provides smooth and neat work of papering. This molding material consists of a body (53)(63) that extends to the corner of vertical wall (30) and the ceiling (20) or the wall and the floor (40). It also has the wing part 1 (51)(61) that stretches parallel to the wall, and the wing part 2 (52)(62) that stretch parallel to the ceiling or the floor. These wing parts are applicable to have wallpaper (70) pasted on them. The molding material covers the rough surface of the wing parts; plasterer’s putty is not needed. Also, the material has a cutting line that helps removing a section of wallpaper properly. The molding material also has the advantage of hiding the nails on the wing parts with wallpaper pasted on them, providing neat clean look of work.

Description:
Description MOLDING MATERIALS FOR WALLPAPER EXECUTION Technical Field The main idea of this invention is molding materials, specially designed to fit any conditions of the wall, whether smooth or rough. The adhesive surface if the wallpaper maintains to be smooth and provides elegant look after the execution.

Background Art Generally, decorated molding materials have been executed on where the vertical wall and the ceiling meet, the border so called. And both the wall and ceiling are papered with wallpaper.

Usual fact is that, however, this progress causes a gap to be found between the rough wall and the molding material depending on the worker's skill.

Accordingly, one will find the execution not elegant and has to spend another time and labor fixing the gap.

Now, an improved idea of molding material supporter for ceiling can be found in the [Patent No. 3167, Korean Utility Model Patent in 19931 Fig. 1 and 2 show the main drawings of the idea. In the fig. 2, you can see the supporter (1) located on the wall (9) equally with the ceiling board (11). Nail (12) is used to have the supporter nailed onto the wall, through the nail hole (@.

The molding finishes as the ceiling board (11) fit the groove (5) between two supporting pieces, (2) and (3). Meanwhile, curved part (4) of the supporter has shrinking part (7), which is composed of horizontal surface (7a) and vertical surface (7d). When the supporter is installed onto wall. These two surfaces give fixed spaces form the because of the adhesive part %) hMing possibIe"roxh surface wall-gap"of the border.

Also, it is designed to paper easily, after finishing molding on the corner of ceiling and wall, letting the upper end of the paper (10) locate behind the shrinking part (7).

This provides clean and neat look of the wallpaper. However, the supporter of this kind has a disadvantage, too.

Even though it provides neat, clean look of molding by hiding gaps between ceiling and wall, you have to manipulate the wall before papering. That is, the surface of the wall to be papered is mot smooth so that when papered, the paper run in and out badly. At the same tie, adhesion of the paper decreases.

To solve this problem, plasterer's putty is used. The wall is covered with putty, polished with sandpaper and then papered.

Therefore, as you can see, the above mentioned supporter has a good effect of hiding the gap between ceiling and wall but actually requires much work of managing the surface of wall to be smooth and clean.

Disclosure Technical Problem The proposed invention is to solve common problems of general supporters.

This newly invented molding material for papering wall does not require a close management for the surface of wall.

Another purpose of the material is to provide clean and neat surface of papered wall without any run-in-and-out Technical Solution To solve the problem, this molding material consists of the body and special features= wing part 1 and 2.

The wing part 1 locates parallel to the surface of the wall and reaches to the border of wall and either the ceiling or the floor.

The wallpaper is papered on the wing. At the same time, the wing part 2 locates parallel to the ceiling and the floor.

These two wing parts respectively have joints to be put into the grooves on the body.

Therefore, it is easy to remove or install the wing parts.

The molding material provides neat finishing with the wing parts, which are attached on the surface of wall, and ceiling or floor, not requiring manipulating the wall before papering.

Advantageous Effects This molding material has the following advantageous effects : 1. The material has two wing parts that block rough surface of wall. Papers can be put onto the wing parts, providing mush easier and less work compared to former materials 2. The grooves and joints of the body and wings make it possible to cut the paper off as needed 3. The material is stuck to the wall by fixed nails on the wing parts. The nails are covered by paper so that they are not seen unlike the former materials.

Description of Drawings Fig sectional view of former molding material Fig. 2: outline of usage of former material with supporter Fig. 3. outline of usage of this invention Fig. 4 & 5: sectional view of this invention of molding material Fig. 6 & 7.-sectional view of other usages of this invention $ Marks for the mail parts 20-the ceiling 30-vertical wall 50-molding material body 51, 52"1 and 2 wing parts 53-molding material body 70-wallpaper 81-fixed nail Best Mode Here is an explanation for the best condition of this invention referring to the attached drawings.

As you can see in the molding material (50), (60) and Fig. 3, 4, and 5, these materials are installed where vertical wall (30) and the ceiling (20) or the floor meet (40).

The materials consist of body (53), (63) which meets the border of both ceiling and floor, and has wing parts parallel to the vertical wall. The wing part 3 61) can be papered with wallpaper (70).

Also, the surface of both ceiling and floor are less rough than the wall, allowing the material not to have the wing part2. The wing part 2, however, provides better look of the wallpaper or the laminated paper, thanks to the part on which wallpaper can be papered.

In this example of usage, the wing part I and 2 (51, 61) (52, 62) extend as a part of the body (53, 63) Shown example of the molding material (53, 63) and the wing parts (51, 61) (52, 62) make it easy to cut the wallpaper along the cutting line (54, 55) (64,65) and give neat finishing.

Other examples of this molding material (150) (160) are shown if fig. 6 and 7.

Referring to the drawings, the body (153) (163) and the wing parts (151, 161) (152, 162) are possible to be put into and put out. In the drawings, you can see joints (151a, 161a) (152a, 162a) on the wing parts (151, 161) (152, 162) and grooves (153a, 163a) (153b, 163b) on the body.

Now, here is the process of this execution : Referring Fig 3, and 4, locates the material (50) on the comer of the wall (30) and the ceiling (20).

Similarly, have the material (60) fixed to the corner of the wall and the floor (40), following the same step above. Under paper the wall (30) or the ceiling (20) and let it dry.

Put an adhesive on the edge of the paper (70), let the middle area swell with water, cover the ceiling with the paper, and remove the edge of the paper along the cutting line.

Repeat the steps for the ceiling and the floor, in order.

Accordingly, only the edge of wallpaper (70) pasted to the wing parts and the under paper's side joint are stuck and as dried, the middle area of the paper becomes shrunk making the surface of the paper neat and smooth. At the same time, the nails (81) on the wing parts (51) (52) (61) (62) are covered by the paper and laminated floor sheet.

As shown in Fig. 6 and 7, the same steps can execute a separable molding material.

This invention has an advantage of applicable to any kind of modification.
