Abstract:
A molten carbon thermal process magnesium preparation technique and a magnesium refining system. The molten carbon thermal process magnesium preparation technique comprises: melting iron into liquid, vacuuming, filling with a protective gas, placing carbon powder and magnesium oxide powder under the protection of an adequate amount of argon, continuously feeding in the form of a gas-solid mixture under the liquid surface of the liquid iron in a vacuum reaction furnace, carrying out a reduction reaction in the liquid iron to produce magnesium vapor and carbon monoxide; feeding the gases into a cooling apparatus to produce liquid magnesium when cooled; separating the remaining gases, recycling the protective gas for reuse, and introducing the carbon monoxide into a gas collecting apparatus.
