Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a molten sodium battery, in which sealing between a plate-like partition wall having therein a cathode chamber and a metallic anode container accommodating the partition wall to form an airtight anode chamber is easily performed, and the partition wall therefor. The partition wall 11 includes: a β alumina-made plate-like partition wall body 111 that is placed in a metallic anode container 12 having a cylindrical socket 122 connecting the inside to the outside of the container and that has a cathode chamber 110 and a through hole 1175 at the center portion thereof in the thickness direction; and a ceramic-made nipple-like head part 117 that is formed integrally with the partition wall body 111 and has a connection hole connected to the cathode chamber via the through hole, and that is adhered to the socket 122 in an airtight manner.
