Abstract:
Disclosed are a money processing apparatus and a money processing method, wherein a reception rate of money can be changed for each country where the money has currency. Provided are a money processing apparatus and a money processing method using the money processing apparatus, wherein the money processing apparatus comprises: a country distinguishing unit that distinguishes the country where the money inputted into a money-input port has currency; a genuine/counterfeit evaluation unit that conducts an evaluation of whether the money distinguished by the country distinguishing unit is genuine or counterfeit; and an evaluation criterion setting unit that sets an evaluation criterion by which the genuine/counterfeit evaluation unit evaluates that money of a first country is genuine to be lower than an evaluation criterion to be applied to money of a second country that is different from the first country.
