Abstract:
Provided are a monitoring camera control device and a visual monitoring system, with a plurality of monitoring cameras that image a plurality of areas, for selecting an appropriate image from an image from each of the cameras if an object has been detected redundantly. The visual monitoring system is equipped with a plurality of cameras (100 to 102) that capture images within a monitoring area, a recognizing unit (104) that detects an object from an image obtained by a plurality of cameras, and a display selecting unit (106) that, if an object is detected in a monitoring area redundantly imaged by a plurality of cameras, obtains in a recognizing unit a recognition result, which is a feature value of an object, for each camera, and then assigns, on the basis of the recognition result and a priority for the recognition result, a priority order to the image for each camera in accordance with the priority.
