Abstract:
A monitoring camera system able to efficiently record the actions, at the time of intrusion into a region, of a person that has left behind an object; and a video recording apparatus and video recording method of the same. A monitoring camera (2) transmits continuous video information to a video recording apparatus (3), records the time of intrusion when an intruder has been detected, tracks the intruder, determines whether to use an alarm in cases where an object has been left behind after the intruder has passed the monitoring area and that object has continued to remain still for a predetermined period of time, and transmits the alarm information and time of intrusion to the video recording apparatus (3). The video recording apparatus (3) overwrites the memory (34) with video information from the monitoring camera (2) for every predetermined amount of information. When alarm information and time of intrusion are received, the video recording apparatus (3) responds to this information and transmits, out of the video information recorded in the memory (34), video information from the time of intrusion to the time corresponding to the alarm information, and thereby efficiently records the actions, at the time of intrusion, of the person that has left behind an object.
