Provided in the present invention are a monitoring system and monitoring method for a seeder. The monitoring system for a seeder comprises: an industrial control machine, and a driving motor. The industrial control machine comprises: a unit speed fusion module, a seeding flow monitoring module, a driving motor theoretical rotation speed decision module, a rotation speed deviation inference module, a control parameter setting module, a seeding shaft rotation speed adjustment module, and a seeding shaft rotation speed control module. A positioning signal receiver is fixed on the top of a cab and is configured to receive a geographical position signal. The positioning signal receiver is connected with the driving motor theoretical rotation speed decision module. A speed sensor is installed on a driving wheel of the seeder and is configured to measure the rotation speed of the driving wheel of the seeder. The speed sensor is connected with the unit speed fusion module. An acceleration sensor is installed on a cross beam of the rack of the seeder and is configured to measure an acceleration of the seeder. The acceleration sensor is connected with the unit speed fusion module. The present invention can solve the problems in monitoring of unit working state parameters and precise adjustment and control of seeding quantity.
