Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a technology which detects the distance between a moving body and a subject image-captured with a camera installed in the moving body. One of representative monitoring systems of the present invention is provided with: an image capturing unit which is installed in a moving body, captures an image in the forward direction or the backward direction of the moving body, and outputs image data; an image extraction unit which extracts an appearance image of the subject image-captured in the image data; an image analysis unit which analyzes the size of the subject on the appearance image; a distance analysis unit which obtains information on the distance to the subject on the basis of the size of another vehicle on the appearance image; and a control unit which outputs the information on the distance.
