Abstract:
Problem: to monitor the inside of a train, etc., in an effective manner with a monitoring system. Solution: With a monitoring system, image capture means (11-16) capture images of a prescribed region (the interior of a car (A1)), and an occupancy proportion detection means detects the proportion of occupancy in the prescribed region by a prescribed object (for example, a person, etc.) on the basis of the results of the image capture. As an example, the occupancy proportion detection means detects the area occupied by the prescribed object in the prescribed region on the basis of the results captured by the image capture means, and detects the proportion of the detected image area in the prescribed region to a reference area to be the proportion of occupancy by the prescribed object in the prescribed region.
