Abstract:
A monitoring system with monitoring terminals (1), each of which can accurately generate movement time distribution data showing the movement time from the terminal's own monitoring area with respect to each of the other monitoring terminals (1), and which can quickly and appropriately issue instructions on how to respond to a detected suspicious character. Each monitoring camera terminal (1) of the monitoring system captures images of that monitoring camera terminal's own assigned monitoring area, processes the captured images, and tracks the target moving within the monitoring area. Further, with respect to the tracked target, the monitoring camera terminal (1) creates tracking information comprised of the tracking start time, tracking end time, and feature information of the target, linked together, and stores the tracking information in a storage unit (14) as well as informs the other monitoring camera terminals (1) of this information. Then, the monitoring camera terminal (1), based on the tracking information stored therein and tracking information informed by the other monitoring camera terminals (1), generates movement time distribution data summarizing the distributions of movement time from the monitoring camera terminal's (1) own monitoring area to the monitoring areas of each of the other monitoring camera terminals (1).
