Abstract:
This monitoring system (1) is provided with monitoring terminal devices (10) and a central monitoring device (20) capable of communicating via a telecommunication network (30). The central monitoring device (20) obtains monitoring information including at least position information outputted from the monitoring terminal device (10), associates the monitoring information with the position information and stores the same in a database (26), calculates the number of monitoring terminal devices present in an area of interest referenced to a point of interest selected from the aforementioned position information, and, if the number of monitoring terminal devices (10) present in the area of interest is greater than or equal to a prescribed value, selects, from the monitoring terminal devices (10) present in the area of interest, a monitoring terminal device (10) that fulfills prescribed limiting conditions, and outputs, to the selected monitoring terminal device (10), an image transmission command to transmit monitoring information including image information.
