Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a monocrystalline member with a stress layer formed in the interior and a monocrystalline substrate production method capable of easily producing a relatively large and thin monocrystalline substrate. A laser beam is focused on the interior of the monocrystalline member from the surface (10t) on the irradiated side of the monocrystalline member in order to form an internal modified layer monocrystalline member (11) having a two-dimensional stress layer (13u) extending parallel to the surface (10t) and separated from the surface (10t).
