Title:
MONOLITHIC ORGANIC POROUS BODY, MONOLITHIC ORGANIC POROUS ION EXCHANGER, AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE MONOLITHIC ORGANIC POROUS BODY AND THE MONOLITHIC ORGANIC POROUS ION EXCHANGER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/070774
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a monolithic organic porous body having an interconnected macropore structure. In the interconnected macropore structure, cellular macropores are superimposed on top of one another, and the superimposed parts constitute openings having an average diameter of 20 to 200 μm. The monolithic organic porous body has a thickness of 1 mm or more and a total pore volume of 0.5 to 5 ml/g. Further, the area of a skeleton part, which appears on a cross section in an SEM photograph of a cut surface of the interconnected macropore structure (in a dry state), is 25 to 50% in the photograph region. Also disclosed is a monolithic organic porous ion exchanger comprising the monolithic organic porous body and an ion exchange group introduced into the monolithic organic porous body. The monolithic organic porous body and the monolithic organic porous ion exchanger can be used as an adsorbent that is chemically stable, has a high mechanical strength, causes a low pressure loss in the passage of a fluid therethrough, and has a large adsorption capacity, or as an ion exchanger that has a large ion exchange capacity per volume.
