Abstract:
Provided are: a monomer composition for contact lenses, in which a silicone compound having a small molecular weight is used and which enables the production of a contact lens having satisfactory oxygen permeability, mechanical strength, transparency and durability and an excellent feeling during wearing; a polymer of the composition; and a contact lens produced using the polymer. More specifically, provided are: a composition comprising (A) a methacrylic ester monomer containing a phosphocholine group, (B) an itaconic acid diester monomer containing a siloxanyl group, (C) a specific hydrophilic monomer, (D) a (meth)acrylate containing a siloxanyl group, and (E) a specific crosslinking agent at a specified content ratio; a polymer of the composition; and a contact lens produced using the polymer.
