Abstract:
The present invention effectively reduces physical burden on a wearer during a motion of the wearer. A motion assist device according to the present invention is characterized by comprising belts that are disposed from the shoulders of a wearer to the back of the knees of the wearer on the back side of the wearer when the wearer is wearing the motion assist device, wherein the portions of the belts that are disposed along the buttocks of the wearer are made of a first elastic material that stretches along the buttocks as the wearer transitions from a standing posture to a forward-leaning posture or a squatting posture. The motion assist device also comprises shoulder strap members that branch from the back side of the wearer and are hung over and across the left and right shoulders to the chest side of the wearer. Preferably, the portions of the shoulder strap members on the chest side and the back side are connected via the right and left underarms of the wearer, and shoulder-top portions of the shoulder strap members are connected to the upper ends of the belts, so that the portions of the shoulder strap members on the back side are pressed against the back of the wearer due to a recovery force of the belts.
