Abstract:

A motion guide device where vibration of a moving block in the direction orthogonal to the axis of a raceway rail is damped. A damping plate (8) having a surface facing the surface of a raceway rail (1) is provided at a moving block body (4). The surface of the damping plate (8) is made to be in contact with the raceway rail (1) or is set such that the gap between the surface and the raceway rail (1) is as close as possible to zero. When vibration occurs from the raceway rail or the moving block, the surface of the raceway rail (1) and the surface of the damping plate (8) of the motion guide device are in contact. As a result, motion guide device’s spring constant in the direction orthogonal to the axis of the raceway rail changes to improve vibration damping ability in the orthogonal direction.
