Abstract:
The present invention efficiently generates motive power by taking advantage of a force generated when an object is moved by gravitational force or buoyant force. This motive power generation device is provided with: a horizontal rotary shaft for outputting motive power; a rotary body which rotates about the horizontal rotary shaft independently thereof; rails which are provided to the rotary body so as to extend in a diametrical direction thereof; a mobile body which is provided to the rails so as to be capable of moving reciprocally; and a drive means which rotates the horizontal rotary shaft in a prescribed forward rotational direction as a result of movement of the mobile body. The drive means is provided with: a one-way clutch, the inner ring of which is fitted to the horizontal rotary shaft; and a transmission means for converting the movement of the mobile body with respect to the rails into the rotation of the outer ring of the one-way clutch, wherein the transmission means is provided with a pinion gear fitted to the outer ring, and a rack gear provided to the mobile body so as to mesh with the pinion gear. At least three rails are provided to the rotary body so as to be disposed equiangularly with the horizontal rotary shaft being at the center, while the mobile body is provided with either a weight or a float.
