Abstract:
A motor control device (4) for driving a motor (2) by sine waves is provided with: a first physical quantity detection unit (13) for outputting a current detection signal according to the terminal voltage across a single shunt resistor (Rs) provided such that the three-phase currents of the motor flow therethrough; a second physical quantity detection unit (14) for outputting a physical quantity detection signal corresponding to a physical quantity associated with the driving of the motor; an A/D converter (16) for performing A/D conversion on each of the detection signals; and a conversion operation control unit (17) for controlling the operation of the A/D converter. The conversion operation control unit is provided with: an unused region detection unit (18) for estimating a current detection period for detecting the three-phase currents on the basis of signal generation information to obtain an unused region of the A/D converter, said signal generation information being used when generating a drive signal for the motor; a determination unit (19) for determining whether the unused region is an available time or not; and a conversion operation execution unit (21) for performing A/D conversion on the physical quantity detection signal using the unused region determined to be the available time.
