Abstract:
An angular velocity estimate (ωe) used for the control of a motor of an electric power steering apparatus is derived as follows. A resistance calculating unit (52) calculates a motor resistance value (Rc) on the basis of detected values (Vm, Im) of motor voltage and current during a first state period in which the motor substantially stops the rotation thereof. An average value calculating unit (53) derives an average value (Rav) of the calculated resistance values (Rc) during a steering retention period. A characteristic holding unit (55) holds current-resistance characteristics for associating the motor current with the motor resistance, and a characteristic updating unit (54) updates the current-resistance characteristics on the basis of the average value (Rav). An estimate calculating unit (56) calculates the angular velocity estimate (ωe) on the basis of the detected values (Vm, Im) of the motor voltage and current and a motor resistance value (Rm) acquired by the current-resistance characteristics.
