Abstract:

Provided is a motor control device capable of, even when an abnormality occurs in a motor driving circuit or a multi-phase electric motor, continuing to control the driving of the electric motor, and also provided are an electric power steering device using the motor control device and a vehicle. The motor control device comprises: a plurality of hardware units operating in a normal state and outputting motor current; a shared control device for controlling each of the hardware units; a single electric motor operated by the motor current output from each of the hardware units; and an abnormality diagnosing unit for diagnosing the abnormality of each of the hardware units. When there is a hardware unit diagnosed as being abnormal by the abnormality diagnosing unit, the control device stops the operation of the hardware unit diagnosed as being abnormal and continues to use a normal hardware unit to drive the electric motor.
