Abstract:
The present invention relates to a motor control device provided with multiple power systems, and to a motor control method. Each power system is provided with a winding group configured from windings corresponding to multiple phases and with an inverter which outputs a current to each phase of the winding group. The control device stops operation of the inverter in a first power system when the sum of the phase currents in the first power system is an abnormal value. Then, within a prescribed period of stopping operation from the inverter in the first power system, the control device continues operation of the inverter in another power system even if the sum of the phase currents is an abnormal value. By this means, it is possible to continue operation of the inverters in normal power systems insofar as possible while stopping operation of the inverter in a power system in which an abnormality such as a short circuit or ground fault has occurred.
