Abstract:
The present invention relates to a motor control device for a vehicle used, for example, for an electric power steering control device which generates an assistive force with an electric motor as a driving source in accordance with a steering operation.
The motor control device suppresses a failure due to a surge voltage without increasing the costs associated with high accuracy or high speed while improving reliability. The motor control device for a vehicle comprises: a drive circuit for driving and controlling an electric motor; and a switch-off part disposed on a drive line, including a semiconductor switch and a diode connected in parallel with the current path of the semiconductor switch. When switching off the energization from the drive circuit to the electric motor, the motor control device turns off the semiconductor switch while a current flows in the semiconductor switch in the direction along the forward direction of the diode.
