Abstract:
A motor control device 100 is provided with the following: a rectifier circuit 2 that converts an alternating current voltage to a direct current voltage; and an inverter circuit 4 that converts the direct current voltage, which was outputted from the rectifier circuit 2, to an alternating current voltage and applies the alternating current voltage to a motor 6. The motor control device 100 is provided with the following: a plurality of series circuits that are connected to a direct current bus 20 of the rectifier circuit 2 and the inverter circuit 4, the series circuits each being constituted of a smoothing capacitor 3 and a switch 7; and a control circuit 8 that controls the switches 7. The motor control device is characterized in that the control circuit 8 has a current passage accumulated time, which is the time during which current has passed through the rectifier circuit 2 or the inverter circuit 4, of a certain amount of time or greater, and if a temperature accumulated time, which is the time accumulated during which a temperature of greater than or equal to a certain value is detected inside the motor control device, is greater than or equal to a certain amount of time, the switch 7 is switched between on and off states.
